$9 million senior community opens at high-profile Grandville location in January

Posted on January 26, 2018, 2:16 pm

GRANDVILLE, Mich., Jan. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Leisure Living Management, a Grand Rapids-based senior housing and care provider, this month will debut its $9 million, 43,000-square-foot independent, assisted living and memory care community near the heart of Grandville’s retail district. Grand Village Assisted Living and Memory Care, at 3939 44th St. SW, is the region’s newest retirement community. It features 30 independent and assisted living apartments in addition to 14 memory care units that are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Grand Village combines intelligent design with compassionate care for residents of Greater Grand Rapids. Grand Village marks the 25th community housing center under the locally-owned Leisure Living umbrella, and it is the organization’s second location in Kent County. “We always say we are ‘Sharing Life’s Journey with Seniors,’ and that is why we are honored to be walking side-by-side with families and residents as they journey through this stage of their lives,” said Neil Kraay, President of Leisure Living Management. “We are excited to be a part of the close-knit Grandville community as we keep family members near relatives and friends with around-the-clock care from our exceptional staff.” Grandville resident Elnora Peabody will be among the first people to move into the community. She said it was important for her to stay close to home, where she and her husband, Darl, have lived and raised their family for more than 60 years. “It is everything I want: brand-new, beautiful, and the people seem very nice,” Peabody said. “I will be able to attend my same church, Grandville United Methodist, and to continue treasured friendships and […]

Leisure Living Management Receives a trademark; Moments Memory Care™

Posted on October 5, 2017, 5:51 pm

Four years ago, the Leisure Living Management operations team designed Moments Memory Care™, our specialized memory care service for those experiencing memory loss, Alzheimer’s or others forms of dementia.   After searching for the best memory programs, LLM found gaps in available training and care programs. So we decided to create our own based on the latest research. Moments Memory Care™ is specifically tailored to meeting the complex needs of the staff, family and residents needs. This program balances physical care and emotional needs of the residents and their loved ones.   Each Moments Memory Care™ apartment provides enough space for residents to feel like they have a space of their own, a neighborhood feel that encourages movement and walking, assistance with personal care needs, medication administration, housekeeping, maintenance, meals and snacks, personal laundry services, life enrichment activities, and much more.   Now officially trademarked, Moments Memory Care™ is offered at most Leisure Living Management communities. This trademark vindicates all of the hard work and time it took to research and implement the best, first class Memory Care program for residents, family members and staff. Dedicated to providing the best possible care, the Moments Memory Care™ program will continue to evolve with the newest research to best meet the needs of staff, residents and family members change.   Read more about our Moments Memory Care program.

Leisure Living Management goes to the Horse Barn

Posted on September 7, 2017, 7:16 pm

In August, Stonegate Village Assisted Living took five seniors to a local barn in Sanilac County for horseback rides. Knowing a handful residents were itching to get back in the saddle, Rochelle Lyons organized an outing to the local horse barn with the help of members from the Sanilac County Sheriff Posse and the Sanilac County 4-H Therapeutic Riding Program. The barn filled with laughter as each resident took their turn riding a horse. One of the Stonegate Village Assisted Living residents’ last time on a horse was 90 years ago! Thank you to Rochelle and the team at Stonegate Village for being a great example of living each day with purpose! Stonegate Village’s trip to the barn is a perfect example of how passionate our communities are about providing the best care possible for each resident and helping them live a joy-filled life. To see videos of residents going on their horseback rides, visit Stonegate Village Assisted Living on Facebook.
